| Long Target 2022 | 06/30/2022 | 18356 | As a result of the VPI+ grant, Virginia has had continued success in increasing the number of eligible children served in high-quality preschool programs. In 2017-2018, 3,450 at-risk children and families were served in VPI+ classrooms, and that number increased to 3,770 in 2018-2019. During the course of the four-year VPI+ grant, 13,321 children and families benefited from the enhanced policies, programs, and practices developed as a result of grant funding. For the 2019-2020 school year, divisions were able to apply for funding to continue to support VPI + classrooms, though a requirement to contribute a portion of funding was added. |
