Data Source and Calculation
The Code of Virginia requires SCHEV to conduct annually an educational orientation for recent appointees to the governing boards of the public institutions of higher education. At the conclusion of each orientation, attendees are asked to complete a survey that seeks to ascertain their satisfaction with each of the event's components and the orientation as a whole. This measure is calculated by dividing the number of attendees who report satisfaction with the orientation as a whole by the total number of survey completers, with 'satisfaction' defined as ratings of 'extremely valuable', 'very valuable' and 'valuable'.
