Data Source and Calculation

This measure is calculated using permit tracking-data from the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy's gas and oil regulatory database system. The number of permit decisions made within 30 days of receipt of a complete application is compared to the total number of permit decisions due during the review period. The numbers are used to calculate the percentage of timely permit decisions. The percentages for the most recent five years are then averaged.
