This measure reflects the total amount of energy contracts administered by the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy (DMME) for state facilities in millions of dollars. Cost certainty for participating agencies is the primary function of the energy procurement programs administered by DMME.  Total dollars of energy contracts normally increases slightly each year as new facilities are added and to cover rate increases.  No significant increases in the cost of energy are expected through 2016 due to market forces, efficiency and conservation efforts.
