Data Source and Calculation
The measure is calculated based on information from Department of Forestry (DOF) wildfire incident reports which are entered into DOF's Integrated Forest Resource Information System (IFRIS) by DOF employees. The goal of this measure is to increase the number of fires that DOF contains within 24 hours. It is expressed as a percentage to mitigate the influence of weather-related factors on our performance. The measure is determined by dividing the number of wildfire responses contained within 24 hours by the total number of wildfire responses.
