Data Source and Calculation
The Agency Preparedness Assessment is an all-hazards assessment tool that measures agencies' compliance with requirements and best practices. The assessment has components including Physical Security, Continuity of Operations, Information Security, Vital Records, Fire Safety, Human Resources, Risk Management and Internal Controls, and the National Incident Management System (for Virginia Emergency Response Team - VERT - agencies only). Assessment conducted and score provided by Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security. Assessment usually conducted in the fall and reported to agencies the next spring or summer.
