Agency easement records; calculated as the number of new easements recorded during the state fiscal year. The agency holds over 570 easements as of June 2014. Current targets reflect the impact of a slow economy on easement donations. Grant-funded easements have been more active, however grant funding remains limited.

20168.00Easement staff devoted a great deal of time this year to working with our partners in the development of a nationwide programmatic agreement for the American Battlefield Protection Program’s Battlefield Land Acquisition Grants, as this is the funding source for many of the easement projects at DHR.. While this effort took considerable time away from development and recordation of new easements, easement program staff’s involvement was important to ensure that steps outlined in the programmatic agreement reflect and coordinate with the easement process.
