Data Source and Calculation

"Impaired Waters" are those waters in the Commonwealth that do not meet the water quality standards established by the Department of Environmenal Qulaity (DEQ) for that body of water and therefore are not of a quality needed to fully support the designated uses of that water body (i.e. aquatic life, recreation, public water supply, wildlife, etc). One of DEQ’s main goals is to reduce the amount of impaired waters in the state and therefore it is important that we target available funding to projects which help achieve that goal. Using the Virginia Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund (VCWRLF) Annual Report, determine the percentage of funds directed to these projects.
