Data Source and Calculation

Each year, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) distributes application materials to all localities, receives and processes applications and then distributes the funds based on annual General Assembly appropriations into the Litter Control and Recycling Fund. Funds are distributed in accordance with an allocation formula adopted by the Litter Control and Recycling Fund Advisory Board (“Fund Board”).

To update measure DEQ staff review grant applications and data available in the grant allocations database and compare results to baseline data (collected during FY 2005).
