201227.90“This is a 3 year follow-up recidivism statistic. We calculate this statistic by determining # Graduate recidivists / # Graduates. We take into account only those individuals who have completed one or both programs.” (We would suggest replacing the current statement with this one on the Virginia Performs website)
201326.00Data to determine SR re-incarceration takes approximately 9 months to mature.  As this follow-up period ended on December 31, 2013 and the analysis was run on data from June 28, 2013.  Therefore, this rate should be considered preliminary and may change when run on mature data.
201426.20*Preliminary rate which includes those graduates who were released in CY2010 and at liberty to recidivate
201527.10Recidivism rate at Detention and Diversion Centers is based on the number of graduates from a Detention and/or Diversion Center who received a new SR term within 3 years of the date of last graduation from a Detention or Diversion Center during CY2011. The closing of White Post Diversion Center may have impacted the overall recidivism rate for graduates from a Detention and/or Diversion Center. Offenders who might have graduated from the full program at White Post may have been released early with a reason other than graduation. In addition, the interruption of the program when offenders were transferred to another Diversion Center could have affected their final release from the new Diversion program.
