Data Source and Calculation

Demand response programs offer incentives for state agencies and public bodies who reduce or shift their facility's energy use during times of peak demand.  The Commonwealth benefits from these programs because the overall efficiency of the flow of electricity is increased.  The Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy works with state agencies and public bodies to enter into demand response agreements.  Revenue is based on current program guidelines as administered by PJM Interconnection.  New programs could significantly increase demand response revenue by 2016.
