Data Source and Calculation
Student financial aid funds are allocated in the state budget as items within the SCHEV budget; SCHEV offers recommendations annually to the Governor and the General Assembly on projected student need and aid-program funding statewide. This measure reflects the sum of the student-aid programs designated in the Appropriation Act as Scholarships (Program 10810), namely the Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) Program, the Space Grant Scholarship Program, the Two-year Transfer Grant Program, the New Economy Workforce Credential Program, the Military Survivors Program and the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership (VWIL) Program.
